DARPA LIFT Challenge Debut
From Patented Concept to Flight Demonstration
The DARPA Lift Challenge represents Soarion™ ’s first major public development and demonstration campaign.
The aircraft is being configured specifically to investigate payload-to-weight performance while maintaining controlled vertical takeoff, transition, forward flight, and landing.
The objective is not simply to enter a competition. It is to gather the evidence required to determine where the Soarion™ architecture provides measurable advantages and where further engineering is needed.
The development plan progresses through three major stages

Concept
Refinement
The team is refining the aircraft into a minimum-complexity, buildable configuration and conducting aerodynamic, propulsion, structural, and payload analyses.

Prototype Fabrication
and Integration
The aircraft incorporates a lightweight composite structure, embedded propulsion ducts, electric lift fans, forward-thrust propulsion, power electronics, and a digital flight-control system.

Flight Testing
Testing includes:
• Component-level propulsion tests
• Static lift and thrust measurement
• Structural verification
• Power-consumption testing
• Hover-control development
• Transition testing
